Professional Work

I worked for WorldDoc
for over five years as their Senior Designer. During that time I was charged with creating new programs to help their members become healthier,
designing interactions and interfaces for the website features, and redesigning the companies signature product, WorldDoc 24/7.
There are two main challenges in creating for WorldDoc. One is that they sell a B2B product with a consumer-facing website, so the company goals, client needs, and user needs may not be the same. The other is that their product needs to inspire people to do something they generally don't want to do: take care of their health and their medical finances... which is much more difficult than selling a product the consumer already wants.
Design success:
“Engagement Index” (measure of both user adoption and ongoing engagement)
Increase year over year:
2007: 89.6% - 2008: 137% - 2009: 112.4%
Site certified by the National Council for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
Noted in NCQA’s final summation as being “User friendly and intuitive”, “Well organized”, with “Helpful navigation.”

A Vision of the Future
This is my vision of the WorldDoc 24/7 product could be in the future. This slideshow represents a flag in the sand off in the distance, a goal. There is no dictation of look and feel or technology requirements, only of what the User Experience might be for both the end user and clients.

Site Redesign Process
Over the course of multiple strategy and requirement changes, the new design of WorldDoc's signature product was completed. This slideshow shows the entire process I completed including A/B testing, Usability testing, and Eyetracking.

Site Redesign Mockups
Represented below are mockups of my redesign of the site. Included are the new homepage, both with WorldDoc branding and client branding and customization, three applications that are competitive differentiators, and the original design of the site homepage.
Usability Testing Samples
During the site redesign process, I conducted four rounds of Usability Testing on our new home page, two internal and two external. Click below to open the testing prototype I created, and open the Questions document to take the test yourself.

Healthy Living Program
One of the programs I designed is called Healthy Living. Average results for the 12 week program yield a 30% decrease in breast cancer risk, 10% decrease in colon cancer risk and 24% decrease in blood pressure – from behavior change alone.

My Medications
This section of the Personal Health Record was originally designed to show all medications a member has taken with an emphasis on the financial transactions of filling prescriptions. In 2008, I redesigned the tool to place emphasis on alerting members with warnings or opportunities regarding their current medications and show a visual history that can be analyzed to understand related conditions and treatments.
